26 July 2026 – Songs of Praise in the RNLI building
Our annual Songs of Praise event attracted visitors to the RNLI building to hear hymns chosen mainly by the congregation who explained what each Hymn meant to them. The RNLI manager, who had just supervised two ‘Shouts’ (lifeboat emergency launches) earlier that afternoon also chose the final hymn – ‘For Those in Peril on The Sea’ – a fitting tribute to the organisation and the volunteers who supervise each launch and crew the boat.
25-26 July 2026 – Arts Festival
Yet again the All Saints Tent was a very popular attraction for the tea and cakes, for the Childrens Craft Activities and more. Included this year was a stall showing the rebuild status – with the opportunity to complete a jigsaw showing the stunning new West Window which is under construction. Many also stopped to choose local scenic greetings cards, showing Mudeford at it best in all lights.
July 2026 – Our Mission Partners from Spain visit
All Saints was pleased to welcome Chris and Veronica, our CMS (Church Mission Society) partners and their three children on Sunday 12th July to our normal Eucharist service. We have supported their missionary work for some years in Spain and Arab countries around the Middle East. They describe their role as “We seek to share the gospel with Spanish and Arab people around us, and to help Arab Christians in the Middle East grow in faith”. They shared their work and how it is helping encourage in locations where followers of Jesus are in a minority.
Their trip included seeing the beach which. they loved and the rebuilding work of our church. Best wishes to them as they return to their home near Madrid (Spain) to continue their work.
June 2026 – Summer Fayre at Stanpit Village Hall
Church members held their annual summer fayre with a number of interesting stalls plus the expected provision of drinks and cakes. The music group also held a short singalong session to entertain the many visitors. I am pleased to report that the event made £1200.
May 2026 – Avon Reach Raise over £ 1250 with a Spinnaker Tower Abseil.
Amazingly the Avon Reach Carehome manager and a senior member of staff agreed to abseil about 400 feet down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth to raise funds for the rebuild appeal. This was after their 2025 fundraising by a parachute jump. Thank you Avon Reach for this and all the other events you have put on for the church.
May 2026 – Blessing of the Waters
The annual blessing of the waters ceremony was held in early May. Reverend Wendy led the service and this year it was her turn to travel in a small rowing boat out into the Run to deliver the blessing and throw a cross into the water. Many thanks for the RNLI who helped and provided their reassuring safety boat.
