Messy Church - an informal church experience for young families

We hold Messy Church once every month on a Friday at Mudeford Wood Community Centre and once on a Thursday at High Cross.  At Mudeford Wood we have hosted an average of 16 children per session.  High Cross is usually busier, with around 25 children.

The children come after school with their parents or other carers.  They spend about an hour on craft work based on the theme of the day: painting, cutting and sticking, sewing, baking etc.  Our themes in 2024 included Martha and Mary, Easter, Pentecost, Feeding 5000 and Builders on rock and sand, as well as David and Goliath, Samuel and Joshua from the Old testament.

After the craft, Rev Kathy leads a short service with songs, prayers and a Bible story.

A two course hot meal is prepared for the children and any adults who wish to join them.  We now charge £1.50 to cover the cost of the meal.

Look at the calendar on the Whats On tab to find out when the next Messy Churches are being held in either location.
