Warm Welcome evolved from Warm Spaces, set up in 2023 to support communities struggling with heating and food bills. It became clear that what was more important was provision of companionship and friendship. We meet on a Thursday morning in St Luke’s hall between 10am and midday, serving hot drinks, home-made cake and biscuits, often supplemented by home-made scones baked by one of our regular attendees. During colder months we have also served soup and bread. No charge is made but individuals often make voluntary donations. Those who come, both members of the church and from the community in general, have told us how valuable they have found this fellowship. We have been lucky to have 12 volunteers enabling us to run a rota of helpers each week.
